Win a $20,000 Grant From Whirlpool

The Whirlpool Corporation is again running it’s Whirlpool Brand Mother of Invention Grant program. If you are a mom with a great product innovation, invention, service or business idea, you should enter this competition.

What kind of idea you ask–well, make sure you don’t send any ideas about appliances. Those will be disqualified. Whirlpool is looking for all new product innovation, invention, service or business ideas except those about appliances or appliance components.

According to the website, ” the 2007 Whirlpool Brand Mother of Invention Grant will provide moms with the necessary business resources, such as seed money and expert advice, helping to make business dreams a reality”.

Prizes

$20,000 Grand Prize Grant
Also includes a Whirlpool Duet® or Cabrio™ washer and dryer pair, a Whirlpool Fabric Freshener and a $3,000 stipend for a new home office.

Two $7,000 First Prize Grants
Each grant also includes a Whirlpool Gold PowerScour™ dishwasher and a Whirlpool Duet Sport™ washer and dryer pair.

Two $5,000 Second Prize Grants
Each grant also includes a Whirlpool Duet Sport™ washer and dryer pair.

Each of these prize winners also get an all expenses paid trip to Benton Harbor, MI to tour the Whirlpool Global headquarters and meet .

Eligibility:

  • Entrants must be a mother
  • Legal residents of the United States mainland only

Criteria Used for Judging each entry:

  • must create a solution to an unmet consumer need
  • uniqueness in the current marketplace
  • viable business
  • story behind the creation

Last day to enter is July 30, 2007
