Quotes: Andy Mckelvey on Entrepreneurship
Written on December 25, 2007 by Amanda M. Gladden
“Entrepreneurs take advantage of what many people don’t even have the vision to realize or the dedication to pursue. From education, to the arts, to the business world, entrepreneurs have greatly impacted the world in a variety of ways throughout history.
Many have built empires from scratch. Others have risked much in pursuit of a dream. All have managed to dramatically change both their own lives – and ours. Whatever it is, it’s made you realize just how possible the impossible may actually be. All you need is the right mind-set and what I feel is the secret to success: timing.”

Entrepreneurship is both a demanding and rewarding thing to experience. The satisfaction gained from being an entrepreneur is unimaginable, but sometimes the mental aspect is extremely difficult.
I love it though!

Like the quote. I think the key is having the right mind-set. Some people may have the mind-set but sit around thinking they won’t start until the timing is right. A real entrepreneur makes the timing work for her, and is proactive, not reactive.

Being an entrepreneur is what I was made for. I’m working hard on my business and although the rewards are not there yet, eventually they will be and I can’t wait to see how it’s going to feel

This post really reminds me again what it takes to be a entrepreneur. To me, an entrepreneurs are people who do what people don’t want to do, achieve what others never thought of achieving and be someone others might put all the blame on them. The stand in front the world and shout out “I’m going to make the world different”. That’s how they inspire me.

These are very uplifting words I work hard for hardly nothing but I enjoy every minute of it and I believe if you have the drive and passion and ability to learn and take action no matter the cost, then you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. You can’t sit around an wait for something to happen or for the right “thing” to fall into your lap. You have to go out and make it happen.

Timing: that much I know. How to get it is a question that’s confounded me my whole life.

I also agree that timing is essential to success in any endeavor….but, sometimes the right timing comes only by good luck. So, maybe ‘luck’ should be on your list as
well!
Nice post. Thanks!

Working for yourself has many benefits with few negatives. I like that I make or break my success. I can’t put it on anyone else. If I don’t get off my butt and take action, I will not be successful. I can’t imagine working for anyone else every again.

I love the challenge of being an entrepreneur. It drives me every day and I guess the constant threat of failure keeps me going.

yes timing is everything in this day and age… u dont want to come out with an expensive trendy piece of technology if the economy is sinking and consumers arent spending their money. its just like the real estate market… there are times to buy and then there are times to sell.
