Nicole Jenkins and David Toledo both Parkdale High School seniors, scored a $750.00 second place prize from the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship local business plan competition.
They competed with a full business plan for a tutoring company, Top of the Charts Tutoring including marketing strategies, monthly and yearly projections, and goals. A total of 1,600 students entered the competition.

Purpose of Competition
This business plan competition is specific to India. The competition is a search for entrepreneurs that have an innovative plan to address challenges faced by the microfinance movement in India which prevents micro-finance from becoming a major player in the financial sector and entrepreneurs capable of building companies that will accelerate microfinance into mainstream financial services there.

Over 78 million baby boomers were born between 1946 and 1964 here in the United States, making up 28% of the U.S. market. Estimates are that this group accounts for 77% of all financial assets. According to the Boomer Venture website, this represents over $2 trillion in annual spending power, a very lucrative market to go after.
The 2008 Boomer Venture Business Plan contest aims to identify business plans or startup ventures that show business potential for this ever increasing market.
