Moving my blog
Written on June 23, 2007 by Amanda M. Gladden
I have started to move my blog over from Blogger to it’s own domain name so that I can utilize Wordpress and all its really cool features.
I’m happy I finally decided to go forward with the move but a bit sad that I can’t bring my authority numbers at Technorati from the old blog to the new.
Things will work out though…..they always do. I have set the US Independence Day, July 4th as my deadline by which I should have this site up and aesthetically pleasing. ![]()
Now, it’s on to choosing a theme and figuring out how to implement a few things I have in mind.

Thanks for sharing Linky Love!
Maybe ask Technorati help how to take your authority with you? Am also quite interested to know that

The work around is tell all your linkers to link to your new blog, quite tidious but it works

Linky,
Yes, I am contacting everyone and asking them to update their links; tedious indeed! In the meantime, I found the following over at Technorati:
Q: My blog has a new URL. What are the next steps?
A: If the domain of your blog is different (example: myblog.blogspot.com is now myblog.com), please note that we are unable transfer or combine links from different URLs at this time. Links are URL-based and are unique citations to that blog at that time.
However, if you permanently redirect the old blog URL to the new blog URL by sending a permanent redirect response (HTTP Status 301) to anyone requesting the old URL, it will help consolidate your online blog presence for all web aggregators and help have your links reestablished eventually. Apache’s mod_rewrite is a popular method of handling such requests.
A redirect it will have to be–anyone know if that’s doable with Blogspot?
