Colorado: The Bard Center Business Plan Competition

University of Colorado, Denver’s Bard School of Entrepreneurship is hosting the Bard Center Business Plan Competition again this year.

The Bard Center recognizes the most outstanding plans with cash and in-kind awards totaling nearly $100,000. There are special incentives to new business startups in the bioscience and nonprofit areas.


Purpose:

    Build bridges between the Bard Center and the Denver-area business community.
    Add a special incentive to new business startups in the bioscience and nonprofit areas.
    Serve as a catalyst for economic development and new business growth in Colorado.

Who Can Enter: students, alumni, and faculty at all higher education/graduate-level institutions in Colorado.

Competition Timeline:

March 13, 2008 One-page Executive Summary due
Top 6 business plans are chosen
June 11, 2008 The six finalists each have twenty minutes to present their plans to the panel
and the public and have an additional ten minutes for question and answers.
Judges choose the first, second, and third-place winners

Awards:
A total of $25,500 is awarded to the top six finalists, and the winners receive approximately $80,000 of in kind awards.
