The Whirlpool Corporation is again running it’s Whirlpool Brand Mother of Invention Grant program. If you are a mom with a great product innovation, invention, service or business idea, you should enter this competition.

What kind of idea you ask–well, make sure you don’t send any ideas about appliances. Those will be disqualified. Whirlpool is looking for all new product innovation, invention, service or business ideas except those about appliances or appliance components.

According to the website, ” the 2007 Whirlpool Brand Mother of Invention Grant will provide moms with the necessary business resources, such as seed money and expert advice, helping to make business dreams a reality”.

Zion’s Bank Women’s Financial Group offers a Smart Women Grant.

Applicant must be a female business owner and primary manager of the company’s day to day activities or must be associated with a non-profit organization that directly benefits women.

Grant amount: up to $3000
Open to: Female residents of Utah and Idaho
Available for: small business start-up or expansion
Deadline: June 29, 2007

Priority is given to projects that:

 

  • promote empowerment of women
