Tagged with the Egel Nest Blog Award
October 17, 2007
Last week Woman Start Your Business Now was tagged by the very funny Malaysian blogger, Wee See Kim of Linky Love fame.
She passed me an Egel Nest Award. I had never heard of the award, had no clue what it was or what I was supposed to do with it, but since Miss Linky Love is using the meme to remind us all about breast cancer, I decided to play along.
According to Brad Egel who created it, the Egel Nest Award is given for Blog Excellence (or eggscellence). When tagged with it, you are to in turn pass it on to others you think are deserving of one.

So without further ado, I’m passing the award on to the following awesome bloggers:
Pearl on Interesting Obervations
Leigh, Crazy Meezer
Debba, Girlfriendology
Daylle, Lessons From a Recovering Doormat
and last but not least, my hero, Tom Peter

Blog Action Day-Conserve Energy at Home
October 15, 2007
It’s Blog Action Day- a day with one important purpose for the organizers and bloggers who chose to participate — to bring attention to the importance of feeling a sense of responsibility for the world in which we live. (the issues of global warming and doing our part to make a difference).
October 15, 2007 is the day that bloggers worldwide participated in this effort by blogging about global warming, recycling or some aspect of the energy conservation theme. This is my contribution to the awareness effort– asking my blogs readers to remain aware in four words, conserve energy at home.
Here’s why-
Conserving energy not only saves you money on utility bills, doing so also reduces the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) released into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is considered one of the chief culprits of global warming.

Grants, Incentives & Other Assistance Available Update Your Home to Conserve Energy
October 15, 2007

In keeping with Woman Start Your Business Now’s theme of helping you locate money to get things done, here are 3 places to search for tax credits and state assistance programs available to encourage you to institute some home improvements to conserve energy.
I.
- Research and take advantage of available tax credits and grants in your locale
In the United State, the IRS currently offers tax credits (a credit reduces the amount of taxes owed to the government) to consumers, home builders and commercial buildings to encourage energy conservation.
Tax credits are possible for home improvements such as adding insulation, replacing old leaky windows with more energy efficient ones as well as replacing heating and cooling systems. This tax credit applies to improvements made to your primary residence from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007.
