Colorado: The Bard Center Business Plan Competition

University of Colorado, Denver’s Bard School of Entrepreneurship is hosting the Bard Center Business Plan Competition again this year.

The Bard Center recognizes the most outstanding plans with cash and in-kind awards totaling nearly $100,000. There are special incentives to new business startups in the bioscience and nonprofit areas.

Observation of National Entreprenuership Week Starts February 23

This is the second year the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education is sponsoring National Entrepreneurship Week, calling it “a Celebration of the heritage of entrepreneurship in America and NEW opportunities for a NEW GENERATION”.
(note: this celebration is different than one sponsored by The Kauffman Foundation in partnership with the UK Enterprise Week which is dubbed Global Entrepreneurship Week to be observed in November, 2008)

Washington DC Area Teens Win Business Plan Contest

Nicole Jenkins and David Toledo both Parkdale High School seniors, scored a $750.00 second place prize from the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship local business plan competition.

They competed with a full business plan for a tutoring company, Top of the Charts Tutoring including marketing strategies, monthly and yearly projections, and goals. A total of 1,600 students entered the competition.
